BECOMING THE TOTAL ATHLETE
The total athlete experience involves developing physically, mentally, and spiritually. Most athletes know where to find a training plan to get stronger physically. Anyone who has played on a team, however, knows that there is more to improving than just physical growth. Enhancing communication skills, growing in character, becoming a stronger leader, and discovering purpose in playing all make an athlete better in their sport. When athletes develop in all dimensions they not only play with greater motivation, but they live with focused motivation as well.
Weekly meetings
Our weekly meetings are designed to help you belong. We want to create a culture where you can belong before you believe. If life has been difficult lately or you are curious about living for something bigger than just sports, these meetings are for you. You do not have to believe to belong! With some time to connect and hear athlete testimonies these are something that you don’t want to miss.
KNOWING GOD PERSONALLY
No matter where you are spiritually, we want you to know that Athletes in Action is a safe community for you. We are a group of people centered upon Jesus and His teachings, and we are passionate about helping others hear and respond to those teachings.
What does it take to begin a relationship with God? Do you need to perform a certain way or follow a specific list? Do you need to become a better person so that God will accept you? You may be surprised that none of those things will work. But God has made it very clear in the Bible how we can know Him. Want to learn how you can personally begin a relationship with God?
Grow
Small groups are an opportunity to experience true community. We all have a desire to be known and loved. This is the place where we can grow in relationship with God, others, and ourselves as we spend time in God’s Word and prayer.
Athletes can also meet for one-on-one discipleship with our staff to study scripture, ask questions, and be developed into multiplying Jesus-followers on their teams.
Go
If you're ready to take the initiative to multiply your faith into the lives of teammates and others you influence, we have several opportunities for you to participate in.
WIN: Engaging with athletes to change the culture of sport as they understand the importance of knowing Jesus in a real and personal way.
